Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über geschichtliche Entwicklungen und aktuelle Ausdrucksformen des jugendlichen Rechtsextremismus. Das Phänomen wird disziplinenübergreifend aus verschiedenen Perspektiven beleuchtet. Sozialwissenschaftliche Erklärungsansätze des Rechtsextremismus werden genauso diskutiert wie jugendtheoretische und entwicklungspsychologische Dimensionen. Anschließend wird erörtert, wie das Thema in der Jugendbildungsarbeit aufgegriffen und behandelt werden kann. Dabei wird ein Einblick in das pädagogische Arbeitsfeld der außerschulischen Bildung gegeben.
Erwartet wird eine aktive Mitarbeit im Plenum, in Kleingruppen und in Einzelarbeit. Die in Einzel- und Gruppenarbeit erarbeiteten Ergebnisse sollen präsentiert und gemeinsam diskutiert werden. Für einen Leistungsnachweis oder eine benotete Einzelleistung ist zusätzlich eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung zu einem im Seminar behandelten Thema erforderlich.
