Ciceros Rede gegen L. Calpurnius Piso Caesoninus aus den späten 50er Jahren des 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. ist eine politische „Schmähschrift“ (Invektive), die den Konsul des Jahres 58 auf verschiedenen Feldern zu verunglimpfen sucht. Der Reiz der (so nicht gehaltenen, sondern überarbeiteten) Rede besteht u.a. darin, hinter den Vorwürfen historische Fakten und Zusammenhänge zu erschließen. Dies gilt insbesondere für den zweiten Teil, in dem Cicero die Statthalterschaft des Piso in Makedonien aufs Korn nimmt.
