Mit dem Ausdruck „freiheitlich-demokratische Grundordnung“ gibt das Grundgesetz eine summarische Charakterisierung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Das Seminar soll die zentralen Inhalte des politischen Selbstverständnisses, das in diesem Ausdruck zusammengefasst ist, herausheben und aufklären. Fragen werden demnach sein: Was heißt es heute, einen Staat freiheitlich zu nennen? Wann ist das Demokratie-Gebot erfüllt? Was gehört zu einem Rechtsstaat? Was zu einem Sozialstaat?
Es geht bei diesem Seminar nicht darum zu bestimmen, wie sehr oder wie wenig die politische Wirklichkeit den Vorgaben der Verfassung entspricht. Es geht darum zu bestimmen, was diese Vorgaben meinen.

Anforderungen Hauptmodul u. Gesellschafts-/Religionstheorie:
Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 2 Leistungspunkten in Hauptmodulen (BA-und MA ed.-Studiengang) ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sowie das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern für das Modulportfolio, auf dem die unbenotete Moduleinzelleistung beruht. Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 4 Leistungspunkten im Modul „Gesellschaftstheorie“ ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung sowie das erfolgreiche Erbringen der benoteten Einzelleistung. Die aktive Teilnahme umfasst das Erbringen schriftlicher oder mündlicher Beiträge im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern. Die benotete Einzelleistung besteht aus einer Hausarbeit im Umfang von etwa 2000 Wörtern, die im Anschluss an die Veranstaltung geschrieben wird.
