"Ich habe den Eindruck, dass es in dieser Gesellschaft einen ganz massiven Antiislamismus gibt, der den Antisemitismus abgelöst hat." (Werner Schiffauer 2003).
Diese und weitere Thesen sollen anhand theoretischer Überlegungen, empirischer Studien und unter Einbezug öffentlicher Debatten kritisch diskutiert werden. Neben einer kurzen historischen Herleitung werden insbesondere Ansätze der Sozialwissenschaft, Sozialpsychologie sowie der politischen Psychologie gewählt, um der Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Antisemitismus und Islamophobie nachzugehen.

Das Seminar ist offen für alle Studierende in Grund- und Hauptstudium, die ein Interesse mitbringen an einem Überblick über verschiedene Forschungsansätze und -zugänge zum Thema. Vorkenntnisse sind wünschenswert, aber nicht Voraussetzung.
