Am Beispiel von Horváths Roman „Jugend ohne Gott“ wird untersucht, wie sich zentrale Motive, Figurenkonstellationen, Erzählstrukturen, zeitgeschichtliche Hintergründe etc. im Medienwechsel verändern oder auch adäquate Darstellungsverfahren finden können. Gute Kenntnis des Romans wird vorausgesetzt und zudem im Laufe des Seminars vertieft. Es gibt verschiedene Filmadaptionen, konzentrieren werden wir uns auf die unten angegebene Verfilmung von Gsponer (2017). Text und Film werden detailliert analysiert. Außerdem wird ein solides Grundwissen der narratologischen Filmanalyse und der Theorie der Literaturverfilmung vermittelt.
