230543 The Canadian Short Story (S) (WiSe 2020/2021)

Contents, comment

This American Studies Basisseminar introduces you in some greater depth to the genre of the short story. At the same time, the course provides you with an overview of Canadian short fiction from the 20th century, as we explore the thematic, stylistic, and cultural breadth of the country’s literary production. The focus will lie on reading a variety of selected texts closely with the help of the tools you learn in the two AILT lectures.

PLEASE NOTE: The course will take place ONLINE! The allocation of a lecture theater was a mistake.

Requirements for participation, required level

It makes sense to attend the lecture "Analyzing and Interpreting American Literary Texts" (BM 2.2) OR "Analysing and Interpreting British Literary Texts" (BM 2.1) together with this seminar in the rubric "Genres, Author, Periods" (GAP). But it make NO sense to do the GAP course before you have done the AILT lecture.
