This course is intended for any student who is writing, or plans to write a longer academic work in English. (BA thesis, MA thesis, or PhD dissertation, or other projects). While this course is not discipline-specific, we will discuss general tactics and writing strategies, as well as research methods and time management skills.
This course is open to all levels, but a minimum level of B2 is recommended.

• Writing longer works: staying on track
• Ensuring your tone is correct
• Presenting your written work
• Doing research in English
• Finding the right word, and expanding your vocabulary
• Finding help with writing in your discipline
• Writing abstracts
• Writing research proposals
• Self-editing
• Getting help from your peers
Note: We will be conducting the class entirely online this semester. This means that all meetings will take place on Zoom. We will meet every week, either as a large group, or in smaller pre-assigned writing groups. These groups will be assigned during the first class meeting. All work will be posted and submitted through Lernraum+. In order to participate students must have a reliable internet connection and a moderate comfort with technology.
NOTE: A c-test (placement test) result is not required for this course.
