230221 Seneca, Epistulae morales ad Lucilium (S) (WiSe 2020/2021)

Seneca stellt in den Briefe an Lucilius die Philosophie der Stoa sukzessive und in didaktischer Präsentation dar. Jeder Brief entspricht einer kleinen Einheit und enthält ein Haupt- und ein Nebenthema. Beginnend mit kurzen Briefen über lebensweltliche Themen wie Zeit, Freundschaft, Alter etc. wenden sich die späteren Briefe komplexeren Fragestellungen zu.

Im Seminar werden wir die Briefe zunächst bis Ep. 6 komplett lesen, danach weitere Briefe in Auswahl. Zudem wird es einen Ausblick auf die Konsolationsschriften geben.

Idealerweise BM 1-3, in jedem Fall BM 1.
