Diese Veranstaltung gliedert sich in zwei Teile: Die ersten Sitzungen dienen der Schaffung einer gemeinsamen theoretischen Basis und der Erarbeitung von Forschungsfragen. Im zweiten Teil sollen diese Forschungsfragen praktisch umgesetzt werden. Die Umsetzung erfolgt idealerweise in kleinen Gruppen von 2-3 Personen.
Thematisch ist diese Veranstaltung sehr offen, jedwede empirische untersuchbare phonetische Fragestellung ist möglich. Es werden seitens des Lehrenden Impulse und Ideen für Themen geliefert, aber es wird ein eigener Beitrag zu den Forschungsfragen erwartet.
Für die Studienleistung ist regelmäßige Teilnahme, Beteiligung an Diskussionen und praktische Arbeit an Experimenten erforderlich. Für die benotete Prüfungsleistung wird eine Verschriftlichung der empirischen Studien erwartet.
