Das Seminar richtet sich vornehmlich an Studierende des deutsch-französischen Studienprogramms, ist aber offen für alle an der französischen Geschichtsschreibung Interessierte.
Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, einen Überblick über die französische und deutsche Historiographie(n) des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts zu geben, sowie die Methoden zu vermitteln, die an französische Universitäten erwartet werden (Dissertation und Commentaire de document). Es wird außerdem auf die Praxis der deutsch-französischen Forschung anhand verschiedener Ressourcen eingegangen. Die Arbeitssprache ist grundsätzlich Französisch.
