Niemand würde bestreiten, dass Politikvermittlung in der modernen Demokratie auf die Leistungen der Massenmedien und neuerdings auch auf die neuen Medien angewiesen ist. Uneinigkeit besteht hingegen in der Frage, wie das Verhältnis von Politik und Medien zu beurteilen ist. Während die einen die Politik längst als Spielball der Medien sehen, tendieren andere dazu, die Medien als Instrument in den Händen der Politik zu begreifen. Dazwischen bewegen sich Ansätze, die beide Seiten eher in einer Perspektive wechselseitiger Ermög¬lichung beschreiben. Im Seminar sollen diese Ansätze anhand ausgewählter Texte problembezogen und ver¬gleichend diskutiert werden.
