This seminar will give students a detailed introduction to the world of screenwriting and covers everything from the first idea to
structure and dialogue right down to the question of how to sell and market your baby once it is finished.
We will analyze movies and movie excerpts, explore different techniques to introduce as much conflict as possible to your story, and have you finish with the two most fundamental preparation tools on the way to your first draft: the outline and the treatment.
So buckle up and get ready because we are going to face one of our scariest
opponents as authors: the blank page. How do we defeat it? By filling it with
words.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
IMPORTANT! This block seminar, scheduled to begin in July, will only take place if some form of non-remote classroom teaching has been allowed by July 2020. A decision will be taken in the second week of June as to whether it will have to be cancelled or not.
Note that the workshopping on screenwriting will be by Mr Brauner. Work for Studienleistungen/Prüfungsleistungen will be submitted to Dr Skorge.
