Nationalsozialismus und Shoah begegnen Schülerinnen und Schülern nicht nur im Unterricht, sondern auch im außerschulischen Kontext in Kinofilmen, Computerspielen und nahezu dauerpräsent im Fernsehen. Nicht selten, so der Tenor in Lehrerzimmern, aber auch in der Literatur, habe diese Überfrachtung zu einem Desinteresse der Schülerinnen und Schüler an der Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Teil der Geschichte geführt. Wenn man die Lehrpläne, aber auch die Forderung, Schülerinnen und Schüler zur Teilhabe an Geschichtskultur zu befähigen, Ernst nimmt, steht man hier möglicherweise vor einem Dilemma.
Vor diesem Hintergrund soll im Seminar die Frage diskutiert werden, wie man Nationalsozialismus und Shoah im Unterricht behandeln kann. Zunächst soll daher gemeinsam im Seminar eine Unterrichtsreihe zum Thema geplant werden, bevor dann unter Berücksichtigung unterschiedlicher Quellen und Materialien (Ego-Dokumente, Comics, Film, ggf. literarische Werke und Theaterstücke...) eigene Unterrichtsvorhaben entwickelt und diskutiert werden sollen. In Absprache kann eine Exkursion zu einem außerschulischen Lernort erfolgen.
