This seminar will take place in an adapted form using Lernraumplus.
The large number of different varieties of English that are spoken around the world today have developed in very different ways. Some are the result of colonialism and the slave trade, while others have evolved only recently without the presence of direct colonial rule. In this seminar, we are going to look at different varieties of English and their diachronic development, and are going to put the variation we find today into this context.
