Heinrich von Kleists Erzählungen gelten als innovative Texte, die sich durch ihre besondere Sprachoriginalität, ihre narrative Dynamik und Plastizität, durch ihre ästhetische Modernität und ihren Reichtum an (grenzgängerischen) Ideen und Motiven auszeichnen. Folgerichtig spielen sie im Deutschunterricht - jahrgangsstufenübergreifend - nach wie vor eine zentrale Rolle. Kleists Erzähltexte sind besonders gut geeignete Gegenstände, um Prozesse des literarischen Lernens zu reflektieren und um über den Status und die Bedeutung spezifisch literarischer Kompetenzen im modernen Deutschunterricht nachzudenken.
Das Seminar wird sich mit literaturwissenschaftlichen Zugängen zum Erzähler Kleist, aber vor allem mit Einsatzmöglichkeiten im Literaturunterricht in den Sekundarstufen befassen.
