Das Seminar dient der Beschäftigung mit Formen des politischen Protests, die sich durch Störungen, kreative Bearbeitungen und Verfremdungen etablierter Kommunikationsformen, aber auch medialer Formate und Inhalte (z.B. Memes) hervortut. Die Absicht der Initiatoren ist weniger, etwas Neues zu schaffen oder Lösungen für Probleme anzubieten. Vielmehr geht es darum, Regeln zu verletzen, zu irritieren, aufmerksam zu machen, herauszufordern, was diese Kommunikation mittlerweile für unterschiedliche Bereiche wie Werbung, Marketing, Wahlkämpfe, und nicht nur für politischen Protest oder neue subkulturelle Bewegungen interessant macht. Bislang fraglos geltende Informations- und Kommunikationsgewohnheiten werden – oft auf eine lustbetonte Weise – beobachtbar und thematisierbar gemacht, damit aber auch verfügbar für Politisierungen, für Abgrenzungen, Kollektivierungen. Im Seminar werden dazu einführende Studien gelesen und diskutiert.
