Ein wesentlicher Gegenstand der pädagogischen Psychologie ist die Motivation von Lernenden. Themen des Seminars sind deshalb u.a. Leistungsmotivation, intrinsische und extrinsische Motivation, Interesse, Kausalattributionen und Bezugsnormen. Ausgehend von den motivationspsychologischen Theorien sollen zudem Möglichkeiten erarbeitet und diskutiert werden, wie die Motivation von SchülerInnen im Unterricht gefördert werden kann.

Es wird von allen Teilnehmern eine regelmäßige Teilnahme und aktive Mitarbeit erwartet. Dazu gehört insbesondere die individuelle Bearbeitung von spezifischen Arbeitsaufträgen im Seminar. Weiterhin übernimmt jeder Teilnehmer/jede Teilnehmerin einen Kurz-Input in einer Seminarsitzung. Dies beinhaltet z.B. die Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Übungen, kurze inhaltliche Impulse zur Wiederholung und die Vorstellung von relevanten Studien.
