Contents, comment

Ob als einfache Statistik, Rating, Ranking, Benchmark oder Indikator, Zahlen spielen in der modernen Gesellschaft eine zentrale Rolle und sind nicht aus ihr wegzudenken. Sie werden unterschiedlich dargestellt, kommen auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise zur Anwendung, haben unterschiedliche Auswirkungen und werden auch unterschiedlich rezipiert. Das Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist, sich dem Thema Quantifizierung aus einer dezidiert soziologischen Perspektive zu nähern und die Genese, diskursive Einbettung und Auswirkungen von Zahlen besser zu verstehen. Zu diesem Zweck werden zentrale theoretische und empirische Beiträge aus der Quantifizierungsforschung gemeinsam diskutiert.
