In this class we will read four representative novels to analyze how and why one of the most ambiguous concepts in the history of culture and literature, i.e. "nature" has formally and functionally developed throughout the 19th century.
One major focus will be on the differences between examples from enlightened, romantic and realistic features in the novels.
