Das Seminar nimmt das phänomen 'schwule Literatur in deutscher Sprache' in seiner historischen Spezifität in den Blick. Es erarbeitet ein literatursoziologisches Verständnis des Phänomens und zeichnet anhand exemplarischer Lektüren ein Bild schwuler Literatur von der Zeitschrift "Der Eigene" (1896–1932) bis zum Ende der AIDS-Krise 1996.
