Dieses Seminar bietet eine Einführung in das Thema Migration aus einer soziologischen Perspektive. Insbesondere beleuchtet der Kurs den globalen und transnationalen Charakter von Migration. Das Seminar bietet zu Beginn eine Einführung in bedeutende Konzepte und Theorien in der Migrationssoziologie. In einem zweiten Teil werden wir Forschungsmethoden in der Migrationssoziologie kennenlernen. Außerdem werden wir uns mit verschiedenen Formen von Migration beschäftigen und diese im Zusammenhang mit aktuellen wirtschaftlichen, politischen und sozialen Entwicklungen betrachten.

Requirements for participation, required level

Studierende sollten Interesse am Thema Migration haben, Vorkenntnisse sind jedoch nicht erforderlich. Vorausgesetzt wird die Bereitschaft zur vorbereitenden Lektüre der angegebenen Texte und der aktiven Teilnahme an den Veranstaltungen.

b) Benotete Einzelleistung): Hausarbeit, ca 10 Seiten, individuell verfasst zu einem im Seminar diskutierten Thema (nach Absprache), Abgabetermin: 31.03.2020
