Ziel der Übung ist es, neben dem gründlichen Einüben literaturwissenschaftlicher Arbeitsweisen eine erste Einführung in Ansätze und Modelle der postcolonial studies zu geben, die in der Auseinandersetzung mit Literatur der afrikanischen Francophonie Erkenntnisgewinn versprechen. Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei der Kategorie der "Subalternen" gelten. Weiterführende Literatur zum Thema wird im Laufe der Übung angegeben. Die Textarbeit steht unbedingt im Vordergrund.
