Das Seminar ist als Einführung in die klassische Bildungstheorie konzipiert. Im Fokus stehen dabei die klassischen, idealistischen Werke über Bildung sowie des Neuhumanismus, insbesondere Kant, Fichte, Herder und Humboldt. Ein besonderer Fokus soll daher auf den Zusammenhang von Bildung und Moral gelegt werden, dazu soll einerseits die ideengeschichtliche Grundlage erörtert werden in andererseits der auch in der kritischen Betrachung des 20. Jhs. aufgenommen sozialhistorischen bürgerlichen Implikationen aufgenommen werden.
