In diesem Seminar wird der Sportlehrerberuf in den Blick genommen. Thematisiert werden u.a. die historische Entwicklung des Sportlehrerberufs, die individuellen und gesellschaftlichen Erwartungen an die Berufsrolle, die schulischen Arbeitsbedingungen, die aktuellen schulpolitischen Diskussionen, die den Sportlehrerberuf betreffen, und die daraus zu ziehenden Konsequenzen. Besonderes Augenmerk wird auch auf die Relevanz von Geschlechterzugehörigkeit von Sportlehrkräften sowie auf die Altersproblematik gerichtet. Zur Beschreibung und Analyse werden unterschiedliche Forschungsansätze der Sportwissenschaft herangezogen, so dass z.B. historische, stresstheoretische, geschlechtertheoretische sowie professionstheoretische Aspekte berücksichtigt werden.
