In diesem Seminar sollen Texte von Philosoph_innen, die zwar (wiederholt) zu kunst- und bildtheoretischen Fragestellungen geschrieben haben, sich selbst aber nicht dezidiert als Bildwissenschaftler_innen verstehen, diskutiert und kontextualisiert werden. Wir werden uns hierbei Denker_innen aus verschiedenen Strömungen der Philosophie vornehmlich des 20. Jahrhunderts, wie beispielsweise Phänomenologie, Strukturalismus, Dekonstruktion, aber auch (Kultur-)Soziologie widmen. Dabei soll uns immer wieder die Frage anleiten, wie aus unterschiedlichen Disziplinen und theoretischen Kontexten über Kunst und Bilder nachgedacht wurde und werden kann.
Die Bereitschaft zu einer genauen Lektüre auch umfangreicherer Texte ist somit unerlässlich.
