Die Veranstaltung behandelt Trends und Fragen des Informationsmanagements im erweiterten Kontext der Wissenschaftskommunikation in Form eines Kolloquiums. Neben Übersichten zu Neuerungen im Kontext allgemeiner Themen wie Informationsarchitektur, virtuelle Forschungsumgebungen, Suchtechnologie etc. werden Kernmethoden und -technologien, z.B. Data-Mining/Text-Mining, Maschinelles Lernen, Szientometrie/Bibliometrie oder Semantische Datenmodellierung vorgestellt. In jeder Sitzung wird ein Thema behandelt, zu dem der Bezug zum Aufbau von akademischen Wissensinfrastrukturen hergestellt werden soll. Die Veranstaltung ist offen für alle Interessierten und erwartet die Übernahme eines Einleitungsreferats.
