Contents, comment

This course offers an introduction to key concepts, methods, authors, periods and fields of research in English and American literary studies. Special emphasis is given to the analysis and theory of poetry, drama and narrative prose. It is the aim of this course to provide a sound basis for textual analysis and research in seminars and independent study.

• Jackie Kay, “Why Don’t Your Stop Talking?”

Students are strongly urged to make time for the corresponding tutorial, which offers support in the organization of studies, practices strategies of research and the formal requirements of academic work and repeats material presented in class.
