Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit den Grundlagen der Grammatikforschung. Was ist eine Grammatik? Wie entsteht und verändert sie sich? Wie kann man sie empirisch erforschen? Neben klassischen Zugängen aus der theoretischen Linguistik wird das Seminar in exemplarischer Form Ansätze aus der Sprachphilosophie, der historischen Linguistik, der Soziolinguistik, der Psycholinguistik und der empirischen Grammatikforschung diskutieren.
