Mit Texten wie Judith Zanders "Dinge, die wir heute sagten" (2010), Katharina Hackers "Eine Dorfgeschichte" (2011) Saša Stanišićs "Vor dem Fest" (2014) und Juli Zehs "Unterleuten" (2016), erlebt eine vor allem im 19. Jahrhundert (Auerbach, Gotthelf) populäre literarische Gattung ihre Renaissance. Das Seminar hat zum einen zum Ziel, die thematischen, formalen, ästhetischen und erzählerischen Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschieden zwischen den Dorfgeschichten des 19. und denen des 21. Jahrhunderts herauszuarbeiten. Zum anderen wird der Frage nachgegangen, warum sich die Gattung ‚Dorfgeschichte‘ gegenwärtig sowohl bei Autor*innen als auch bei Leser*innen so großer Beliebtheit erfreut und wie sich diese neuen Popularität einer fast schon vergessenen literarischen Spezies - auch im Hinblick auf aktuelle gesellschaftliche und politische Konstellationen - verstehen lässt.

Neben der aktiven und regelmäßigen Teilnahme an den Seminarsitzungen und der sorgfältigen Lektüre der Seminarliteratur wird die bereitschaft erwartet, sich in die Grundbegriffe der Erzähltextanalyse einzuarbeiten.
Für die aktive Teilnahme halten sie zusätzlich ein Referat, zu einem der literarischen Texte, der im Seminar diskutiert wird.
Für die benotete Prüfungsleistung verfassen Sie eine Hausarbeit.
