William Edward Burghardt du Bois (1868-1963) ist ein Begründer der Soziologie (vgl. Morris 2015), brillanter Historiker und der Großvater der Black Studies (vgl. Warren 2011). Er setzte sich in seinen Vorlesungen, Büchern und Reden stets gegen Ausbeutung, Diskriminierung und gesellschaftliche Ungleichheit ein – und dies sowohl gegenüber rassistischer als auch kapitalistischer Ungleichheit. In diesem Seminar geht es um eine Einführung in sein Werk und das Lesen zentraler Passagen einzelner Schriften.
