Religionen in der modernen, spätmodernen oder postmodernen Gesellschaft sind nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Vor allem in Europa werden sie durch säkulare Weltanschauungen ergänzt oder ersetzt, aber als Gegenreaktion flüchten sich nicht wenige in Fundamentalismen. Zugleich gibt es auch nach wie vor Bollwerke etablierter Religiosität mit großem Einfluss, der aber allmählich schwindet, und auf der anderen Seite religöse Menschen, die ihr Heil in kleinen, sich mehr oder weniger abschottenden Gemeinschaften suchen. In anderen Weltgegenden sieht es mal ähnlich, mal anders aus. Diese Dynamiken wollen wir uns gemeinsam anschauen.
