Das Seminar behandelt grundlegende Aspekte der deutschen Syntax in ihrer historischen Entwicklung: Satzbaumuster, Wortstellungspräferenzen, grammatische Mittel wie Kasus, Pronomina, Verbalkonstrukionen, Negation. Thematisiert werden auch die empirischen Möglichkeiten und Grenzen historischer Forschung und allgemeine Theorien des Sprachwandels.
