Im Mittelpunkt der Erkenntnistheorie stehen Fragen nach der Möglichkeit, der Natur und dem Ursprung von Wissen: „Können wir überhaupt etwas wissen?“, „Welche Bedingungen müssen erfüllt sein, damit wir etwas wissen?“, „Aus welchen Quellen schöpfen wir unser Wissen?“. Das Ziel des Seminars besteht darin, anhand der Lektüre einer Auswahl klassischer und zeitgenössischer Texte mögliche Antworten auf diese und andere erkenntnistheoretische Fragestellungen zu diskutieren. Die thematischen Schwerpunkte werden in den Bereichen Skeptizismus, Fundamentalismus versus Kohärentismus, Internalismus versus Externalismus und apriorisches Wissen liegen.

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 2 Leistungspunkten (BA- und MA ed.-Studiengang) ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sowie das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern für das Modulportfolio, auf dem die unbenotete Moduleinzelleitung beruht. Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
