Das Thema der Vorlesung ist das Neue Testament sowohl als literarisches Dokument der Entstehung und Geschichte des Urchristentums wie auch als Teil des Kanons der christlichen Bibel. Ziel ist, die historischen Zusammenhänge und die theologischen Inhalte der neutestamentlichen Schriften im Überblick kennenzulernen. Die beste Form der eigenen Mitarbeit ist die Lektüre der neutestamentlichen Texte.

Formale Voraussetzungen gibt es nicht; erwartet wird die Bereitschaft zur aktiven Mitarbeit über das bloße Hören der Vorlesung hinaus.

Vorausgesetzt wird die regelmäßige Teilnahme. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, als zusätzliche Einzelleistung am Ende des Semesters eine mündliche Prüfung zu machen oder eine Klausur zu schreiben. Auch der Modulabschluß ist möglich.
