This course will introduce major poets of the Victorian Age (Tennyson, Browning, Arnold, Rossetti, Swinburne, Hopkins et al.) and analyse representative examples of their poetic production. A particular focus will be laid on their aesthetic and cultural position between late Romanticism and early Modernism.
A reader with the course texts will be available from the beginning of the term.
