392266 ISY Project: 3D Real-Time Holograms with Multiple Depth Sensors (Pj) (SoSe 2018)

Contents, comment

- Short Description
Our goal is to create a solution to record and transmit live 3D holograms using multiple depth sensors. In previous work we have created a solution based on multiple Kinect v2 systems that is already operational. The project team should pick-up the previous work and implement improvements and optimizations (higher framerate, porting to other sensor devices, etc.). Goal is the visualization of the Holograms on a MS HoloLens or a HTC Vive.
Required skils:

  • Experience with computer vision/signal processing and/or 3D programming recommended.
  • The project will require skills in networking, signal analysis, sensor fusion, processing of point clouds, 3D visualization with Unity.
  • Programming is done on Windows in C# and/or C++.

Please note that the teams will be selected by the supervisors on the basis of short applications that students are expected to send to them. Registering to the project in the ekVV will only be regarded as expression of interest; it will not secure a team membership.
Please get in touch with the supervisors for information on the application procedure.
