Das Lesen von zeitgenössischen Handschriften gehört zu den wichtigsten Voraussetzungen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens, aber auch zu den spannendsten Herausforderungen für (angehende) HistorikerInnen. Im Grundmodul soll daher das Lesen, Bearbeiten und Interpretieren anhand einer Handschrift aus dem frühen 17. Jahrhundert geübt werden. Die Lektüre der bisher unveröffentlichte Handschrift soll zugleich Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungsfelder, -methoden und -möglichkeiten zur Geschichte der Frühen Neuzeit geben und die Studierenden anleiten, selbständig Fragestellungen zu erarbeiten und diese methodisch und fachlich sachgerecht zu interpretieren. Der Text ist, mit etwas Übung und Neugierde, auch für Anfänger gut zu erschließen.
