230219 Ethnic Literatures in the US (S) (SoSe 2018)

Contents, comment

This seminar explores the literature of the United States through the lens of ethnic, gender and cultural studies. Students will be exposed to literary texts of the 19th, 20th and 21st century from African American Literature , Asian American Literature, Chican@ Literature, and White American Literature. Each section will be introduced by theoretical and historical reflections through which the chosen literary texts can be read. Student activities will include student response papers as well as group work.
