Mit der Kritischen Diskursanalyse (Jäger) und der Historisch-Kristischen Diskursanalyse (Wodak/Reisigl) werden vor allem Medienprodukte ausgewertet (Zeitungskorpora, Nachrichtenfilme/Filmberichte). Beide Ansätze verstehen sich als methodisch fundierte, konsequent kritische Wissenschaft.
Im Seminar werden anhand von einführender sowie vertiefender Literatur und Datenmaterial die Methoden der kritischen Diskursanalyse (Jäger; Wodak/Reisigl) allein und in Gruppen erarbeitet und angewandt, so dass Methodenkenntnisse in diesem Bereich erworben oder erweitert werden können.
