230627 Cultural Theory: Food and Body in Asian American Culture (S) (SoSe 2007)

Contents, comment

Within the context of New Historicism we will study ideas and concepts related to cultural materialism with an emphasis on the social and cultural significance of food and body. We will take a close look at Asian American writings and films and then apply the above theoretical concepts to explore in which ways body and food are functioning as ethnic and cultural signifiers.
