Rußland ist mit dem 1985 eingeleiteten Transformationsprozeß neuerlich in eine Entwicklungsphase eingetreten, in der - wie erstmals unter Peter dem Großen - westliche Institutionen und Verhaltensweisen in dem Land implementiert werden. Zur Vorbereitung auf die Ende September/Anfang Oktober 2005 geplante Exkursion sollen in der Übung im Transformationsprozeß aufgetretene Probleme in historischer Perspektive untersucht werden. Dies geschieht an ausgewählten Fragen aus dem Bereich der Veränderung des politischen Systems, der Gesellschaft sowie der wirtschaftlichen Strukturen.
