Colloquium on current research: Sociology of development / gender: Engendering global development debates and recent studies on localisation
The aim is to engender global development debates and recent studies on localisation (especially anglophone and francophone). Engendering means a methodological perspective using gender constructs, relations and order as focus to social analysis. The interest lies in bringing together global debates with innovative empirically based studies oriented towards theory building within the framework of globalisation, translocal flows and constitution of social spaces.
The procedure will be to discuss recent literature of common interest or on specific subjects, with special attention to its relevance to research work in progress. The work will be common reading as well as discussion on material presented by participants.
