In diesem Seminar soll der Einfluss affektiv bedrohlicher Ereignisse auf kognitive, emotionale und motivationale Prozesse sowie das Verhalten behandelt werden. Was versetzt uns in Angst und Schrecken? Wie nehmen wir bedrohliche, angsterregende oder unangenehme Ereignisse wahr und wie verarbeiten wir sie? Was lösen solche Ereignisse in uns aus und wie beeinflussen sie unser Verhalten? Welchen evolutionspsychologischen Hintergrund und welche klinisch-psychologische Relevanz haben diese Ereignisse? Zur Klärung dieser und verwandter Fragen werden sowohl klassische als auch aktuelle theoretische und empirische Arbeiten besprochen.
