Die Definition einer halbgeordneten Menge ist extrem einfach. Folglich kann vieles in der Mathematik als Zweig der Theorie der halbgeordneten Mengen betrachtet werden. Um eine überschaubare Theorie zu erhalten, werden jedoch normalerweise nur endliche halbgeordnete Mengen betrachtet. Dieses Seminar kann als Einführung in die Theorie der endlichen halbgeordneten Mengen verstanden werden. Keine besonderen Vorkenntnisse werden vorausgesetzt. Als Vorlage dient das Buch: `Combinatorics and partially Ordered Sets' von William T. Trotter.
