Der Kurs befasst sich mit der Person des SS- und Polizeigenerals Jürgen Stroop (1895-1952), des Befehlshabers der SS-Verbände, die im April/Mai 1943 das Warschauer Ghetto vernichteten. Zum einen soll die Biographie des aus Detmold stammenden Stroop nachgezeichnet werden, zum anderen soll der "Stroop-Bericht" als Schlüsseldokument des Holocaust analysiert werden. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist die Erarbeitung mehrerer Schautafeln, die als - die Täterseite beleuchtende - Ergänzung zu der Ausstellung "Oneg Schabbat. Das Untergrundarchiv des Warschauer Ghettos" dienen sollen, die Anfang 2005 in Bielefeld gezeigt wird.
