Die Vorlesung bietet eine Einführung in die deutsche Geschichte des 19. Jahrhunderts an. Behandelt werden die Prozesse der Staatsbildung und der Gesellschaftsreformen in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Der Schwerpunkt wird auf den Entwicklungen in Preußen liegen. Mit der Revolution von 1848/49 wird die Vorlesung enden.
