Ziel des Seminars ist die Entwicklung eines Überblicks über das Gebiet der Mediensoziologie anhand einer Auswahl prominenter Medientheorien. Die Auseinandersetzung mit den theoretischen Perspektiven wird mit empirischen Materialien zusammengeführt. Auf diese Weise sollen Möglichkeiten und Limitierungen mediensoziologischer Begriffe auf der Grundlage empirischen Materials diskutiert werden.
