In der Veranstaltung wird das System der Krankenversorgung (Luhmann) als Politikfeld Thematisiert. Nach Klärung der Begriffe sollen zweitens gesellschaftliche Aspekte von Krankheit wie die sozialstrukturelle Verteilung von Krankheiten, der Wandel Krankheitsspektrums und die demographische Entwicklung thematisiert werden. Drittens sollen Sozialstaatstypen und solche des Gesundheitswesens im internationalen Vergleich behandelt werden, viertens die Globalisierung von Gesundheitsrisiken und Gesundheitspolitik.
