300043 Globalisierung und transnationale Migration (S) (WiSe 2003/2004)

In dieser Veranstaltung wird Migration untersucht als ein Prozess der Vernetzung, Interaktion und Rückkehr, der sich sowohl quantitative als auch qualitative im Zuge der stattfindenden Globalisierungsprozesse verändert hat. Neue Migrationmuster, die Diversifizierung von Herkunfts- und Aufnahmeländern aber auch die Feminisierung von Migration charakterisieren die stattfindenen Prozesse. Hierbei spielen sowohl ökonomische Transformationen als auch neue Formen der Kommunikation und Vernetzung eine entscheidende Rolle. Es werden unterschiedliche Ansätze und theoretische Konzepte diskutiert, die sich mit den beobachtbaren Wanderungsprozessen auseinandersetzen bzw. selbige erklären wollen. Dabei werden neben den klassischen Theorien der internationalen Migration vor allem neuere Ansätze zu internationaler Migration behandelt. Insbesondere wird das Konzept der transnationalen Migration besprochen und die Konstruktion von Weiblichkeit und Männlichkeit im Zuge der Migration analysiert. Ferner wird auf die Erfahrung von Migration eingegangen, die in den postmodernen Ansätzen im Zentrum steht um postkolonialen Bedingungen zu beschreiben. Identität, Diaspora und Ethnizität sind dabei Schlüsselkonzepte.
