Wirtschaftssoziologie betrachtet Wirtschaft in ihren kausalen und funktionalen Interdependenzen zu ihrer gesellschaftlichen und natürlichen Umwelt. Die Zielsetzung der Vorlesung besteht darin, Grundbegriffe und theoretische Denkweisen dieser Disziplin vorzustellen sowie die "großen Linien" moderner wirtschaftsgesellschaftlicher Entwicklung darzulegen. Folgende thematische Schwerpunkte sind vorgesehen:

  • Was ist Wirtschaftssoziologie?
  • Theoretische Perspektiven zur modernen Wirtschaftsgesellschaft
  • Wirtschaft und Natur - Wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und ihre ökologische Umwelt
  • Wirtschaft und Kultur - Der Markt und seine soziokulturelle Einbettung
  • Wirtschaft und Technik - Die "langen Wellen" wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung - Betriebs- und Arbeitsformen
  • Wirtschaft und Politik - Politische Regulierung in der Marktwirtschaft
  • Wirtschaft und Weltgesellschaft - Die Globalisierung der Wirtschaft und der "Rheinische Kapitalismus"
